Haworthia ‘Green Rose’ is a cultivated succulent hybrid known for its striking rosette form and vibrant green leaves. It is popular among collectors for its aesthetic appeal and manageable size.

Origin and Habitat

As a hybrid, it is primarily grown in cultivation but derives traits from South African Haworthia species that inhabit rocky, semi-arid environments with well-drained soils and partial shade.

Plant Description

This plant forms compact, symmetrical rosettes of fleshy, bright green leaves that taper to blunt points. The leaf surfaces are smooth and often slightly translucent near the tips, giving a fresh, glowing appearance. The rosette shape resembles a rose in full bloom. In spring or summer, it may produce slender flower stalks with small, tubular, pale pink or white flowers.

Care Instructions

Light
Prefers bright, indirect light to partial shade. Avoid prolonged exposure to intense midday sun.

Watering
Water moderately during the growing season, allowing soil to dry out between waterings. Reduce watering in winter.

Soil
Use a well-draining succulent or cactus soil mix.

Temperature
Thrives between 15°C and 27°C. Protect from frost.

Additional Information

Propagation is usually by offsets. Haworthia ‘Green Rose’ is ideal for container planting, terrariums, and mixed succulent displays. It is drought-tolerant and thrives with good airflow and moderate humidity.
